OVERVIEW:

Technology, Society, and Inequality: New Horizons and Contested Futures is a book written by Erika Cudworth published in 2013 . The major themes of this book address the issues of inequalities in the new digital world as well as the nature of technologies and their associated opportunities in the face of the future. Technology, overall, has certainly done its part in lifting hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and deprivation. However, the worldwide focus on securing economic growth has been far from completely successful in terms of its contribution to the welfare of the majority of the world’s population. The book’s three major topics discuss capitalism, ICTs, and agricultural technology and how all three are being manipulated away from being completely technological benefits to instead creating a great digital divide and further inequalities across our world today.
